Big Fish

The main piece of the puzzle. Our complex is home to Carp pushing 40lb and Catfish pushing 100lb. The specimen water (The Top Lake) has a huge head of 20+lb Carp with a good selection of 30’s and our mixed lake (The Middle Lake) has a good head of Carp from 10lb-25lb and Catfish from 15lb-90lb. Additionally we have a stock pond with plans to stock our lakes with another twenty 25+lb Carp. Check out our target fish and catch report here.

Tackle Shop & Café

Our fully stocked tackle shop is open to general public and members alike and houses all your favourite brands; Mainline, Korda, Daiwa, Nash & Trakker to name a few. You can buy fishing gear, bait, tackle, luggage and clothes on-site - while getting local knowledge from our experienced bailiffs.

Breakfast orders are taken at your swim every morning and then delivered once prepared - including hot drinks. For special dietary requirements, please contact us prior to booking

Premium Facilities

We pride ourselves on offering a comfortable angling experience. With a Car Park for each lake, outdoor shower block, kitchenette and luxury toilets in the shop/café, you definitely won’t be left fending for yourself. We have good access for disabled anglers. If you have any other concerns or would like to make sure we can facilitate your stay, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Nestled in the beautiful Essex countryside, the Churchgate Lakes complex offers everything the modern carp angler has come to expect.

A WORD FROM THE NEW OWNER:

“Buying an established fishery having never fished before was a daunting challenge but one that I’m very excited about. Churchgate already has a good reputation but I feel it needs taking to the next level. I have a vision to make Churchgate Lakes ‘The Best carp fishery in Essex and the South East’ and I’m confident with a lot of hard work I will achieve this. We are the first fishery in the UK to install fibre WiFi to our newest swims along with electric sockets and this will be rolled out to all member swims over the next 12 months. A brand new Brasserie for the ultimate dining experience will accompany new lodges along the water side for the Angler with luxury in mind. Finally, a fish restocking program in place to bring French style fishing to Essex with 40lb + carp swimming our waters within 2 years. Pop down and see the improvements already completed and get a taste of what’s to come here at Churchgate lakes.“
